This album by Argentine singer-songwriter is being marketed as world music. ‘Hombre de Piedra’ even appears in the most recent World Music Charts Europe. However, what I hear in this album is a selection of toe-tapping pop songs with vocals in Spanish. There is barely anything noticeable connected with roots music. One song has a dub reggae rhythm and ‘Changari’ has danceable Latin American beats. The rest is basically retro pop with rockabilly, disco and Spaghetti Western influences.
